Job Responsibilities for Associate Engineer
- Develop the next-generation software for one of the world’s leading global wealth managers
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables etc.
- Support the PO, Tech Analyst and Scrum Master
- Bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and UI design
- Directly interact with a broad spectrum of stakeholders in multiple regions
- Liaise with other technical areas, conducting technology research, and evaluating software required for maintaining the development environment
- Perform research on various technologies and define architectural improvements, build prototypes or core features as needed
- Help set the technical direction that will help achieve the best user experience
Competencies & Experience
- Very good in communicating and comfortable interacting with stakeholders at various levels within the client organization in an empathic and efficient way and excellent English skills
- Able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities of delivery
- Willing to collaborate across domains and regions, for efficiency in technology sharing and reuse
- Added advantage with any Appway experience
- Solid experience in any of the most popular programming languages (Java / Python / C++, SQL/PLSQL for Backend and Databases respectively)
- Solid experience in any of the most popular programming languages (JavaScript for Front-end)
- Knowledge of DevOps configuration management tools ( Docker, TeamCity, Jenkins, uDeploy, Kubernetes, Maven etc)
- Experience with tooling across the SDLC: Sonar, Crucible, JIRA, HP ALM, HP UFT, Confluence, Nexus, Artifactory, Teamcity, Git/BitBucket, Selenium, Appium)
- Adherence to quality with proven record of maintaining your own unit and integration tests
- Solid experience in designing and developing scalable and distributed applications
- Hands on experience on working on server side architecture
- Solid experience in regards of observability i.e. monitoring, logging, tracing, etc.
- Solid experience with OOD and processes for development and testing
- Proficient in best practices for writing code that is maintainable and secure
- Problem solving skills, ability to dive deep to find the root of the problem
- Ability to research and become proficient in new technologies
- Experienced with using Agile development methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of web standards and technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, HTTP) and web performance optimizations
- Excellent knowledge of Object oriented design principles and design patterns, algorithmic and logical skills
- Familiarity with browser debug tools for layout, process inspection, and network analysis
- Experience building responsive, elegant and scalable web applications; understand cross-browser/platform compatibility issues
- Experience with web-page optimization, I18N, AMP
- Experience with unit tests, integration tests, continuous integration systems
- Experience working with large codebases on the frontend is a plus
- Experienced / certification in Appway development (version 8 and above) will be an advantage
